Robotics classes for kids near Harrison

Our robotics courses run like a small engineering shop: a brief, a build, a test that often fails, and a fix. Harrison students leave with a machine they can explain part by part.

Harrison has changed fast, with plenty of new families and very few technical programs for the kids in them.

    Coming from Harrison

Harrison families with one car usually take a weekend slot; families near the station often send older students in by train.

Classes run 90 minutes: a short briefing, hands-on time at the bench or the simulator, then a debrief where every student explains what they did and what broke. Groups stay small enough for a coach to sit next to your child.

    Where a Harrison student starts

Younger builders from Harrison usually begin with electronics, because wiring a working circuit is the fastest way to see cause and effect. From there they move into CAD and 3D printing, and from age 12 into combat robots, where a build has to survive being hit. Nothing is theoretical: if the robot does not drive, the class finds out why.

Coaches work in aviation and engineering, the equipment stays in the workshop, and every student leaves the term with something real: a build, a tracked skill record and a clear next step. If you are unsure which course fits, book the trial class and we will place your child in the right group on the day.

    Questions Harrison parents ask

How do most Harrison students get here?

By car in about 15 minutes, or by train for older students.

What if my child has never used tools?

That is the normal starting point. The first sessions cover safe handling before anything is cut or soldered.

    Are the classes graded?

No grades. Each student gets a progress record showing the skills they have covered.

Where exactly are the classes held?

At our workshop, 118 Ferry Street, Jersey City NJ 07307 — about 5 miles from Harrison. About 15 minutes by car, and a straightforward train ride from Harrison station.

    Do you certify students?

No. We are a training academy: we prepare students, and the FAA examines and certifies. Simulator time is not logged flight time.
