Robotics classes for kids near Newark

Our robotics track turns that daily background noise into something a Newark student can actually work on: electronics, CAD, 3D printing, and robots built to compete against each other.

Newark kids see airliners over their heads every few minutes, and almost never get to sit at the controls of anything.

    Coming from Newark

Older Newark students often travel in on their own by train, which makes the advanced combat robotics courses realistic for working parents.

Classes run 90 minutes: a short briefing, hands-on time at the bench or the simulator, then a debrief where every student explains what they did and what broke. Groups stay small enough for a coach to sit next to your child.

    Where a Newark student starts

Younger builders from Newark usually begin with electronics, because wiring a working circuit is the fastest way to see cause and effect. From there they move into CAD and 3D printing, and from age 12 into combat robots, where a build has to survive being hit. Nothing is theoretical: if the robot does not drive, the class finds out why.

Coaches work in aviation and engineering, the equipment stays in the workshop, and every student leaves the term with something real: a build, a tracked skill record and a clear next step. If you are unsure which course fits, book the trial class and we will place your child in the right group on the day.

    Questions Newark parents ask

Can a teenager get to you from Newark without a parent?

Many of our older students travel in by train and walk the last stretch. We confirm arrival and release times with parents.

Which course should a Newark student start with?

ENG 100 Intro to Robotics & Coding if they like coding, ENG 101 Combat Robotics I if they want to build a competition robot. The trial class is the easiest way to find out.

Do you help with school engineering competitions?

Coaches support students preparing builds, but we are not a competition team.

Where exactly are the classes held?

At our workshop, 118 Ferry Street, Jersey City NJ 07307 — about 7 miles from Newark. About 20 minutes by car, and a direct train ride from Newark Penn Station toward Jersey City.

    Do you certify students?

No. We are a training academy: we prepare students, and the FAA examines and certifies. Simulator time is not logged flight time.
