STEM classes for kids near Queens

For a child who stares at planes over Queens, our Flight track is the next step: a Cessna 172 simulator, real checklists and radio calls, alongside drone and engineering courses.

LaGuardia and JFK make aviation part of everyday life in Queens, while the New York Hall of Science in Flushing Meadows–Corona Park gives children a place to ask how things work. Our workshop takes the next step: build, test and practise at the controls.

    Coming from Queens

A teen watching departures over Astoria or arrivals near Jamaica can bring those questions into the simulator: what a checklist does, how a heading is held and why weather changes a flight. Our Flight track builds toward Private Pilot preparation; actual aircraft training happens later with a partner flight school, not at JFK or LaGuardia through the academy.

Classes run 90 minutes: a short briefing, hands-on time at the bench or the simulator, then a debrief where every student explains what they did and what broke. Groups stay small enough for a coach to sit next to your child.

    Where a Queens student starts

Ages 6 to 8 from Queens start in the Discovery Lab. From 9, students choose the Flight, Aerospace or Robotics track and move through levels 100, 200 and 300, grouped by age and experience. Advanced courses include Part 107 exam prep (eligibility at 16+) and Private Pilot preparation with partner flight schools.

Coaches work in aviation and engineering, the equipment stays in the workshop, and every student leaves the term with something real: a build, a tracked skill record and a clear next step. If you are unsure which course fits, book the trial class and we will place your child in the right group on the day.
